Range of instruments widened from first year to include Bassoon & Piccolo. Fault finding and repair techniques. Repair techniques covering the replacement of: tenons, tone holes & repair of dents in metal bodied instruments. Making
Measuring techniques. Manufacturing techniques. Tool design. Turning Clarinet body. Key making, mounting and finishing. Begin the construction of the individual clarinet.
The schedule of repairs can vary depending on the individual's interests and intended specialism. In addition to modern woodwind instruments repairs could also include traditional wind instruments and brass instruments. The above is an outline of the course at present, but it could change slightly from year to year. |
